Subject:   Investment Opportunity: Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE)
Date:        October 18, 2024

As a member of the Research and Development Department at Anima Mundi Development Partners (AMDP), my role is to identify and evaluate potential investment or funding opportunities that align with our values. AMDP is dedicated to conducting business in a socially responsible, environmentally sustainable, and profitable manner to address society’s most pressing needs. After conducting thorough research, I highly recommend the Western Interstate Commission for Higher Education (WICHE), a nonprofit organization, for its strong commitment to expanding access to higher education across the Western U.S., which aligns with our mission of fostering positive societal impact.

AMDP Standards

Triple Bottom Line

The Triple Bottom Line consists of the three P’s:

  • People: Business’s social impact on all stakeholders (employees, customers, communities, and other stakeholders) and how it includes fair labor practices, community engagement, diversity, and improving quality of life
  • Planet: Organization’s environmental footprint on how it manages resources, reduces waste, minimizes pollution, and contributes to sustainability efforts
  • Profit: Should be achieved responsibly, balancing economic gain with social and environmental considerations

Corporate Social Responsibility

A business’s commitment to operating in an ethically, socially, and environmentally responsible way to contribute positively to its stakeholders and society. This may include ethical business practices, environmental sustainability, philanthropy, and employee well-being.

Carbon Footprint

Carbon Footprint refers to the total amount of greenhouse gases, such as carbon dioxide, that are emitted directly or indirectly by people or organizations. These emissions contribute to climate change by trapping heat in the Earth’s atmosphere. It is calculated using carbon dioxide equivalents by measuring the amount of carbon dioxide (CO2) and methane (CH4) that an organization emits when producing goods or services. We should care about reducing carbon footprints because they directly contribute to climate change, leading to severe environmental, economic, and social consequences.
